Stars with hazelnut filling

The Christmas mood is increasingly insistent and comfortably settling on the sofa in a fabulous shiny outfit. It embraces us warmly and gives us the most beautiful moments of the year, filled with faith, goodness, gratitude, shared moments, love, dedication. It offers us its friendly hand to take us on a magical journey - magical and unforgettable. A journey that inspires us with hope that the most valuable thing is inside ourselves. Little stars that ignite that fire in our hearts that keeps us awake, warms our souls and illuminates our path forward.

Today I offer you a box of delicious stars, delivering sweet moments for the soul.

Ingredients:

For the dough:

210 g plain flour

140 g cold butter, cut into cubes

70 g sugar

2 egg yolks

Hazelnutfilling:

2 egg whites

120 g sugar

210 g finely ground hazelnuts (I used roasted, but it is optional)

½ teaspoon rum

For the dough, mix the butter, flour and sugar with your fingers until it becomes crumbs. Add the egg yolks and knead into a smooth dough. Refrigerate for half an hour, wrapped in cling film.

For the filling, beat the egg whites until stiff, then gradually add the sugar in several batches until dissolved. Continue beating for 10-15 minutes. Finally, add the ground hazelnuts and rum, stirring with a spatula.

Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1 cm and cut out star-shaped shapes. Arrange them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Cool the cookies for another 20-30 minutes (arranged on the tray). Pipe a little of the filling into the center of each star.

The cookies are baked at 1800C for about 10 minutes. They should not be toasted. Sprinkle the stars with powdered sugar.
